Dr. Amjad Shamim

Dr. Amjad is an Associate Professor and Program Manager for MBA in Energy Management at Management & Humanities Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. He is also Deputy Head at the Center of Social Innovation at UTP. He holds a PhD, MS, and MBA in Marketing. His Keynote is sponsored under the Project title "Designing Service-Based Capabilities Framework for Creating Customers' Sustainability Awareness" by The Murata Science Foundation Japan (Ref. LMC23-02 / Ref. 015ME0-345). He acknowledge the contribution and support of the funder. He is a Chartered Manager Fellow (CMgr FCMI) from Chartered Management Institute (CMI) UK and is also a Certified Professional Marketer (CPM, Asia) by the Asian Marketing Federation. With a diverse background encompassing over 15 years of experience in both industry and academia, Dr. Amjad has successfully trained more than 700 industry professionals and researchers. His training programs cover a wide range of areas, including Value Co-Creation, Social Intelligence, Design Thinking, Effective Thought Structuring, Innovation Management, Strategic Marketing Excellence for Professionals, and Structural Equation Modelling, among others. In 2023, Dr. Amjad's Value Co-Creation training program was honored with the "Top 5 Training Program Award" from PETRONAS Marketing and Trading Skill Group. He has an extensive publication record, with over 80 research papers published in leading international journals. Additionally, he has secured 10 research grants from national and international funding bodies. Dr. Amjad has played a pivotal role in academia, having successfully supervised four PhDs and currently supervising the research of eight PhD scholars. He has received numerous awards, including the Top Five Training Program Award from PETRONAS in 2023, the Journal Publication Award from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in 2022, the UTP Brand Advocate Award in 2020, and the Liam Glyn Research Scholarship award from the American Marketing Association – Special Service Interest Group in 2019.
