Prof. B.A Chopade

Professor B. A. Chopade has been working as Vice-Chancellor of AKS University, Satna, Madhya Pradesh, India from 2023. He is also advisor to the Chancellor. He is Former ViceChancellor of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India from 2014-2019 and developed BAMU as a premier university in India He is a Distinguished Scientist, Innovator and Academician of international repute. His research areas includes microbiology, biotechnology and nanotechnology. He is research mentor, institution builder, great visionary and innovative academic administrator. He has been working as national head of research division of Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal, Nagpur from 2019-20 onwards. He is former Chairman of Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) of Science for Equity, Empowerment and Development (SEED) Division of Department of Science and Technology (DST) Government of India, New Delhi. He completed his Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular genetics at Department of Microbiology, University of Nottingham, England (1983-1986) under most prestigious National Overseas Scholarship of Government of India. This same scholarship was awarded to former president of India, Shri K R Narayan and Nobel Laureate Har Gobind Khorana. He was recipient of most prestigious Fogarty NIH International research Fellowship award by Government of USA for Post Doctoral research at the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA and worked with world famous scientist Professor A.M. Chakraborty in the field of Genetic Engineering of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and discovered Pra gene homolog of oncogene in bacteria.
